Everything people ask us
Why choose Photo Booth King?
We are a team of photo booth operators and graphic designers rather than a hire company that also owns a booth. That shows up in the details: templates designed for your event, backdrops built to match, attendants who stay for the whole hire and equipment maintained properly.
What is so great about hiring a photo booth?
It gives guests something to do in the gap between the meal and the dancing, and it sends everyone home with something physical. Guest books, video messages and personalised prints all come out of one setup in the corner of the room.
Can we choose between colour and black and white photos?
Yes. The touch screen lets guests choose colour or black and white before the countdown starts, so both can appear on the same night — and in the same guest book.
Do you have props that come with the booths?
Props are part of what makes it fun, and the full prop box is included with every package. Feather boas, hats, wigs, glasses, masks and chalk boards, laid out on a table beside the booth and tidied by the attendants through the night. See the props page
for the full list.
Is the photo quality good?
It is better than good. We print on commercial dye-sublimation printers, so prints come out dry, will not smudge and do not fade. They are about as durable as a photograph gets.
Do you provide guest books and video messages?
Yes to both. We print double copies of each shot so guests keep one and the guest book keeps one, with space for a written message beside it. Video messages are included at no extra cost and are supplied with your photographs afterwards.
How long is a typical booth hire?
Three hours on Bronze and Silver, four on Gold and five on Platinum. Within your hire, guests can take unlimited photos and leave unlimited video messages. If none of the packages fits, we will price a custom duration.
Who looks after the booth during our event?
We do. Attendants stay with the booth for the whole hire — two as standard, three on Platinum. They answer questions, keep the queue moving, help with props and make sure nothing is left unattended.
Are your booths covered by insurance?
We hold public liability and employer’s liability insurance and our equipment is PAT tested. Copies of all documents are available on request — most venues will ask for them a few weeks beforehand and we can send them directly.
How much setup time do you need?
About an hour. At weddings we usually set up during or before the wedding breakfast so the booth is ready the moment the evening starts, rather than being built in front of your guests.
How much space does the booth need?
Roughly 2.5m square for most setups, including the area guests stand in, plus a standard 13A socket within a few metres. The LED igloo is the most compact at about 2.4m square. The VW Camper and black cab need vehicle access and firm level ground instead.
Can you customise a package for our event?
Yes. Tell us what the evening looks like and we will build the package around it — extra hours, a second booth for a big room, a shorter hire during a drinks reception or a different template for each part of the night. Send the details through the quote form
.
How far in advance should we book?
Summer Saturdays and December dates go first, often a year ahead. Midweek and off-season dates are usually available with a few weeks’ notice. Either way, ask — we sometimes have a booth free when you would not expect it.
What happens to our photographs afterwards?
Every image is supplied on a USB stick. We do not publish guests’ photographs on social media or on this website unless you have asked us to and the people in them have agreed.
Check your date — then let the fun begin
Tell us the date, the venue and roughly how many guests you are expecting, and we will come back with a written quote and a hold on the booth. No deposit is taken until you are happy.
